A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.
The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.
Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.
For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Eerything was great - a lot of locations to visit, mixture of hills and sea views with many monuments and castles. Different tours to choose from and day trips as well are really good option. The only not so possitive thing were the prices which were more expensive in Edinburgh compared to other cities we have been to and not to forget - haggis - you will either love it or hate it, but def. everyone should try it at least once.

The tourist trap areas can be full of luggage and busy but there are pretty laneways and shops to be found and this adds a nice vibe, however finding cafes and pubs around newington and the meadows just off the beaten path was even nicer. Strolls along the river path to slightly lesser known Dean village and the galleries was stunning, and hikes up and around Arthur’s seat and the crags is a nice way to spend an afternoon.

This is the second year in a row that I have went for my birthday. I do not think I could ever get tired of this place. The architecture is amazing. The locals are very friendly. I have never ran out of anything to do.
You have to check in at the pub, which is only around the corner from the hotel. Absolutely loved the staff! They were ever so accommodating, especially with complimentary drinks at arrival. Loved the location with it being a good walk to Edinburgh City Centre - where there was a plethora of independent cafes and bakeries selling all sorts of goodies.
When you're done exploring Edinburgh, then the bed doesn't go amiss, along with the en suite facility.
To reiterate, a great family owned establishment at a great location.
The location is perfect when you want to explore the city centre of Edinburgh. The breakfast is a buffet where you can find croissants, muffins, all different types of drinks, eggs, bacon and sausages, to summarize a full breakfast. They do vegetarian options as well.
The staff was very helpful.
If you drive to the hotel, there is a parking nearby. There was a daily discount offered by the hotel. I definitely recommend staying at the Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Royal Mile Hotel.
Our favorite hotel of our trip! The staff was so friendly, the room extremely spacious, the beds were comfortable and the bedding warm on some very cold Scottish nights. We also really enjoyed the breakfast each morning. A great location to be near both the tram and train station as well as the Tesco and restaurants near by. A little outside of New Town/Old Town but the tram was a 7 minute commute.
The location of this hotel was spot on, close to everything in Old Town. We walked everywhere and saw everything that we wanted to see in Edinburgh. We had a day trip to the Highlands and such as well and walked to the pick up spot just around the corner. Staff was friendly, beds were comfortable and there was great water pressure. I would stay again for the location, staff and value!
Excellent location noy to far from city centre very clean hotel staff were really helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you room was fantastic would definitely book this hotel again if I was doing another overnight stay in Edinburgh been in a few hotels in Edinburgh and this was one of the best
Big spacious room, considering a single. Central to Edinburgh City centre. Could walk to Royal Mile, castle etc. The restaurant was across the road , for breakfast. Rabbles is excellent quality food, and friendly polite service. They serve meals all day/evening. I got 20%off meals for being at the hotel.
Dalmore is ideally situated for the airport and the city centre, it is very clean and the breakfast was excellent and the best coffee I found in Edinburgh,Iain & Dot are so friendly making time to stand and talk. we won’t stay anywhere else when we visit Scotland and recommend to family and friends
loved how central it is to Edinburgh city centre but hidden away enough that there’s not much noise around the hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and the bar food and drinks were lovely. The TV in the hotel was good as you could cast streaming services to it from another device.
It's convenient to get on bus to city centre and airport of Edinburgh, the area has its own community shops and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Good facilities is offered in the hotel with its restaurant, snack kiosk and best of all is the gym and swiimming pool.

The hotel was in the best location in the city centre right on the royal mile. Our room was clean and bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was lovely too. We didn’t spend much time in the hotel but staff were friendly and bar area looked lovely too
This is the best location of any hotel in Edinburgh in my opinion; literally NEXT to the train station and right on the bridge from Old town to New town; it was perfect. We stayed in two hotels in our stay, and this FAR exceeded the other!
Excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms that are safe, clean, and quiet. Great place to stay in Edinburgh New Town. Pretty accessible to Old Town, but still a walk of about 15-30 min, depending on where you go.
Lovely boutique hotel. Friendly Concierge. Gorgeous walk into the New and Old Town area. Had some sights to see as well close by to the hotel, like the Botanical Gardens and Dean Village.
I spent two days in Edinburgh the hotel location was more than excellent it was amazing in the middle of every thing the old town and the center of the city less than 5 min walk
I liked that the hotel was close to Edinburgh city centre. You can easily get the bus or tram and if you really feel like, you can walk into city centre.
